👣If feet cannot feel, feet cannot function...
After several years of owning a fitness studio & working with hundreds of people on their stability, strength & flexibility 💪🏼 I quickly realized how vitally important it was to have well developed feet.
🦶With most people shoving their feet in small, “shoe shaped” shoes, almost everyone I worked with had issues w/ bunions, plantar fasciitis, lack of balance/strength, hammertones & more… (which can all be avoided & fixed!)
🗣The traditional shoes we’ve all known & grown up with are actually causing harm to our skeletal, muscular & nervous systems.
👎🏼They push & pinch our feet into unnatural shapes, lead us to muscle imbalance & disconnect us further from the earth.
Quite literally, feet are the foundation to your body & they NEED to be strong & flexible to hold you up all day long💁🏼♀️
👉🏼If our feet aren't’ strong, we lack a stable foundation…
And without a stable foundation, the joints that stack above our feet (ankles, kness, hips) can begin to hold up our weight, lose mobility & increase in inflammation 🙅🏼♀️becoming sore or painful...
SO WHAT DO YOU DO?
✔️Barefoot Shoes: these are wider than normal, super flexible, & thinner for more connection to the ground
We love & use: @vivobarefoot @xeroshoes @merrell
✔️Toe Spacers: @correcttoes these are a simple tool to provide circulation, stimulation & stretching to our toes & foot muscles
✔️Daily Foot Exercises: strengthening your feet & toes everyday is a simple way to make this lifelong change.
🗑 I personally ditched all shoes that have arch support, laces, thick soles, a small toe bed or are inflexible in any way. I even prefer hiking in barefoot shoes or just going barefoot if the ground allows. ✨TRUE barefoot is even better.
👼🏼Especially for children! make sure you put off them wearing shoes for AS LONG AS POSSIBLE so they have the best chance at proper mobility & natural strength.
Just a few minutes of conscious awareness of the feet a day & some new shoes can totally change your life👊🏼
