Apollo Neuro For Less Stress

I’ve had my Apollo Neuro for over a year now & can definitley say it’s one of my favorite tools to help me stay calm, recover quickly after flights/travel & keep my heart rate down. It’s a simple bracelet that vibrates at different levels to communicate with your nervous system. After using it for a year & tracking my stats on my Oura Ring- it 100% improves my health scores.

Is Apollo Neuro the Most Scientifically Backed Wearable for Stress, Sleep & Performance?

The wellness wearable market is flooded with trackers like Fitbit, Oura Ring, Whoop, and Muse—all promising improvements in sleep, recovery, or focus. But how many actually do more than track? Enter Apollo Neuro: a wearable designed not just to monitor your body, but to actively shift it from stress to calm using gentle vibrations. With 7 completed clinical studies and another 14 underway, it stands apart in a sea of passive gadgets.

How Apollo Neuro Works—Backed by Science

Rather than sensing your state, Apollo intervenes directly through vibrotactile stimulation—low-frequency, inaudible pulses engineered to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (your “rest and digest” mode). This promotes balance in your autonomic nervous system, helping reduce stress and improve recovery (health.harvard.edu, prnewswire.com, arxiv.org).

Key physiological impacts:

  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV): Trojan indicator of stress resilience. Apollo users experience an 11–25% increase in HRV within minutes—confirmed in a double-blind, placebo‑controlled, crossover trial using gold-standard ECG readings (apolloneuro.com).

  • Real-world sleep improvements: A UPMC/Oura Ring study with 582 users showed up to 30 min more total sleep, 19% more deep sleep, and improved REM—all correlated with automated Apollo use (apolloneuro.com).

  • Athlete recovery: In 22 collegiate athletes, Apollo enhanced HRV and accelerated recovery post-exercise in a university lab study (apolloneuro.com).

What the 7+ Clinical Trials Reveal

Here’s a breakdown of Apollo’s completed studies (apolloneuro.com):

  1. Pitt Club & Varsity Athlete Trial (n=22): Double-blind, placebo-controlled; HRV rose significantly post-exercise.

  2. Healthy Adults Under Stress (n=38): Double-blind crossover showed 10% higher HRV, 25% better cognitive performance under pressure.

  3. Open‑Label Meditation Study (n=50): Users reached meditative states 50% faster.

  4. Remote Sleep Observational (n=582): Increased deep & REM sleep, total TST.

  5. Prospective Sleep Intervention (n=300): Study complete; results pending peer review.

  6. PTSD in Veterans (n=65): Statistically meaningful symptom improvement.

  7. Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) Patients (n=25): Four‑week use improved fatigue, Raynaud’s, QoL, mood (apolloneuro.com).

Apollo vs. Passive Trackers: Who Wins?

Apollo doesn’t just tell you what your body’s doing—it influences it, often within minutes. And the science isn’t anecdotal—it’s backed by rigorous trials, including placebo-controlled and athlete-based research.

Strengths & Limitations: An Honest Assessment

Strengths:

  • Clinically validated HRV boost

  • Objective sleep improvements

  • Measurable athlete recovery

  • Multiple populations studied (stress, PTSD, SSc)

My Experience: Real Results vs. The Hype

Having tested Apollo over a month with 3+ hours daily use:

  • Stress & focus: I felt calmer during peak work stress and clearer after sessions.

  • Sleep quality: Logged a consistent ~30 minutes more total sleep and a deeper overnight rest.

  • Calibration: Initially, the vibes felt distracting—but quickly became oddly comforting and routine.

Final Take: Who Should Use Apollo?

✅ If you’re done with trackers that just “tell you”—and want active, immediate stress relief and measurable gains in HRV and sleep, Apollo is unique in the wearable space.
⚠️ If you're skeptical of self-published results or prefer fully peer-reviewed pharmacological trials, be aware many studies are still pending publication.

Bottom line: Apollo Neuro stands alone in combining scientifically validated, active intervention through touch therapy with wearable convenience. It doesn’t just tell you you're stressed—it helps you feel and fix it. For those serious about stress resilience and sleep quality—and tired of passive tracking—Apollo is worth a close look.

Blood Work to get YEARLY

Like I explained in my Health Freedom Program, prevention & awareness are key when it comes to long term health.

From what myself, my family & my clients have experienced, doctors don’t usually want to run any bloodwork if symptoms are not present that correlate to said blood markers.

But wouldn’t it be great to know if you had cancer before it expressed outwardly & became a big problem?

Wouldn’t it be nice to track & understand cholesterol before it got too high?

Wouldn’t it be awesome to do something about a health issue when it’s in an acute stage vs. when it’s in a diagnostic stage?

That’s my mentality on the subject. I’d rather track my numbers over the whole length of my life & work preventatively on my health - so I can truly enjoy my life worry free, symptom free & catch anything serious years in advance.

Here a list of what your primary care practitioner will probably run at your yearly physical:

CBC w/ differential
Metabolic Panel
Lipid Panel
TSH ( & maybe T4 if you get lucky)

It’s rare that docs will order more unless some of the markers on those above panels are out of range… which takes more time & requires more blood draws.

At a minimum, I do recommend seeing your primary care doc once a year & getting some standard blood work done. Utilize your health insurance if you have it!

The Problem w/ standard lab ranges

Another problem with mainstream healthcare & standard testing is that the medical system is using very wide lab ranges. These lab ranges consist of the average of all the people that year that did the blood test. The sicker people get, the lower the “average” becomes. Average does not equal healthy. Isn’t it totally wild that their lab ranges are not based off of healthy people?! This info was a major wake up call to me.

I illustrate the lab ranges below.

What we need to do is use functional lab ranges to find what optimal for yourself is! When we see blood markers start to dip out of the optimal range & into the sub optimal ranges is when we can best do something about it. Waiting for your blood markers to get out of the lab ranges & into the alarm stages for a diagnosis is often times too late to do something holistic about the situation.

I’ve even seen clients blood work come back in the high alarm range & their doctor still says “everything is fine”. Has this happened to you as well?

As you can see from the example above, you can usually start to see some trending patterns before things get much worse & into a diagnostic state. A doctor would most likely not do anything for a score of 115, even though it’s technically high for this clients average over the past decade of time. A doctor would want her number to get above 140 (the technical lab range) before taking action. In my practice, a score of 115 would be outside the functional range & would warrant a deeper look into what the root cause may be.

This is the benefit of paying out of pocket for your labs & working with a professional to get your data into a functional analysis.

There is SO much to be extracted from your old labwork & looking for underlying patterns of dysfunction before they grow into a diagnosis.

Functional Analysis & Gathering More Data

The labwork I listed above that your doctor will typically do is just the beginning. My personal preference is to do a full comprehensive analysis (at least ONCE in your life but yearly is key to finding & knowing your personal optimal ranges). It includes all that I previously listed plus an iron panel, full thyroid panel, copper panel & more.

You can see my full list of markers that I consider a comprehenisve panel by clicking the button below. This is where you can also order your own bloodwork! Right now, this offer is only for those in the United States who have a Labcorp near them. You can search to see if you have a Labcorp near you by clicking here.

This comprehensive panel is what we call “extracellular bloodwork”. This type of bloodwork looks outside of the cells at what is currently inside your blood stream. This is technically a “snapshot in time” at what is going on inside your body.

There is also “intrcellular bloodwork” which looks insdie your cells at what is getting absorbed from the blood into the cells- which is where these nutrients go to do their job! There is a lot of nuance to the blood work analysis & I always recommend getting both extracellular & intracellular bloodwork for a full viewpoint as to what is happening inside your body.

If you want to learn more about functional lab testing & the blood work I mentioned here, I encourage you to watch my Health Freedom Blueprint video which explains it all in a bit more detail!

Holistic Health as a Christian

Oh boy, will this ruffle some feathers! This topic is not for everyone & I encourage you to have an open mind when listening.

If you’re a Christian who has been confused about how to properly steward your body & mind, then this is for you.

If you’ve struggled with mental health imbalances, depression, anxiety, etc, then this is for you.

If you want to live your best life & learn to balance your biochemistry from a scientific & strategic perspective without any New Age practices- then this is for you!

This is what I’ve learned over the years when it comes to “holistic health” & how the New Age movement has infiltrated many health topics in our modern world… & how to get well & stay well for good so you can “run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

Overall, we have great authority over our bodies & the Bible says it’s a temple. It’s literally where the Holy Spirit resides! What a blessing it is to have this dominion over God’s temple.

When studying the human body & how it operates, there is no doubt that we are divinely made. How does such a complicated & perfect machine just form spontaneously from microscopic sperm & egg?! I truly believe that science is just trying to prove that God exists. I LOVE using science & biochemistry to understand the body on a deeper, cellular level. It’s changed my life & the lives of thousands of others.

Enjoy my interview with Angela as we chat about all things health & how it relates to how God says we should be taking care of our bodies.

Understanding The Karma Concept

Image

The Karma Concept was born out the pursuit to create a healthier lifestyle; to set you up to discover your true self, your own powers of healing, and how to create a more profitable future through self awareness.

Karma is defined in the dictionary as “action; seen as bringing upon oneself inevitable results, good or bad, either in this life or in a reincarnation.”

Setting aside the commonly spoken about definition regarding circumstances and events, this philosophy & definition can more positively be translated into your own self, and the reactions you experience throughout your body, mind, and spirit.  Physical, mental, and emotional symptoms & imbalances can all be traced back to an initial point that started the resonating process.  Whether it is healthy food vs. junk food, supportive relationships vs. negative relationships, or positive thoughts vs. self-sabotaging thoughts, our current presence and holistic self are the outcomes of past experiences and choices. Understanding where they came from can lead you towards a path of self-healing.

The wonderful thing is that we can change our future by changing our present.  In terms of karma, begin focusing on the here & now to create a healthier future.  We can no longer do anything about the past, so accepting where we are in the current moment is the best we are ever able to do.  Support a positive present to reap a healthy future.

Ignorance is NOT Bliss

I spent many days feeding my body food that wasn't right for it, only to have many negative symptoms of disease, depleted hormones and no gut function.  I was not being totally conscious of my food choices or noticing how these foods were directly affecting my energy and body as a whole.  My mind was cluttered with negative external remarks and self-hatred, living in the flesh rather than my own soul.  Talk about an ongoing bad dose of karma… By eating the wrong foods and thinking the wrong thoughts, I was only slowly poisoning my body and mind.

My actions were developing constant negative results, and I was clueless.  I’d see doctor after doctor prescribing medications that only covered up the problems temporarily.  I decided I needed to take things into my own hands and begin research on my own.  I ended up diagnosing myself before my naturopath could, and am grateful I could develop the self awareness needed to pay attention and look in the right places.  It didn't come easy, and I contribute my 10+ years of yoga and yoga teacher training to the development of these tools.  Most people can't tap into this realm of awareness as easily, and there are more health problems now than ever before.

Through The Karma Concept, learn to identify what is triggering your mind/body/spirit symptoms before they really get out of hand.  Your health is completely controlled by you, and you are your own best healer.

3 Simple Easy Ways To Start

Food Log:

Keeping track of what you eat, how often you eat, and how these foods make you feel is the first step in identifying key issues.  You can either keep a hand written journal with you, or easily download an app on your phone.  I personally use My Fitness Pal.  It even tracks your exercise and weight loss goals.

Meditation:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you have not started a daily meditation practice, DO SO NOW!  This can create the most awareness in your body.  Focus on tuning in to your organs and brain, to see how well you are digesting and resting.  Meditation Oasis is my favorite, and there is definitely something for everyone.  Starting with just a couple minutes a day, can make a huge impact on how you feel and react to the world.

Journaling:

Writing down your thoughts, moods, and gratitudes is a simple way to get things off your chest and heal your mind.  Challenge yourself to write down 10 things you are thankful for each day.  Check out Tiny Buddha's 10 Journaling Tips.

Believe in Your Future Self

Becoming aware of your internal body & mind definitely takes time, but hey, you’ve got a lifetime to be in the body you have!  Make the most of it and charge it up to it’s fullest potential.

Live the life you desire.

Namaste, Leah
